| Lecture on Cyber Crimes held at JU | | |

JAMMU, Feb 4
Academic Staff College (ASC) of Jammu University in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science & Information Technology today organised a lecture on Cyber Crimes and Cyber Laws.
On the occasion, Superintendent of Police MY Kitchloo delivered a lecture to the University and College teachers who are undergoing a Refresher Course in Information Technology.
In a two hour long presentation-cum-demonstration lecture, Kitchloo dwelt in detail about the various kinds of cyber crimes that the society is witnessing in this Cyber age and what steps are needed to be taken by computer users and internet surfers to protect their cyber space from being infringed upon.
He also cited examples from some recent cyber cases where internet surfers were misled by some companies which resulted in huge financial losses to them.
The participating teachers were explained in detail about cyber crimes like Hacking, Scoofing, Internet time theft and forgery.
It is worth mentioning that MY Kitchloo has recently written a book titled- An Overview of Cyber Crime /Cyber Laws & Investigation of Cyber Crimes.”
The lecture was followed by an interactive session.
Around 30 teachers from various institutions of J&K and neighbouring states are attending the three week long refresher course.
Beside Course Coordinator Dr Pawnesh Abrol and Asstt Professor ASC Ranjeet Kalra, faculty members and staff of the Computer Sciences Department of the University also participated in the lecture.
