The Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda, today reviewed the overall security scenario in the Kashmir valley at a high level meeting held at Police Control Room, Srinagar. The meeting was attended by senior civil, police, security and intelligence officers. The DGP stressed the need for intensifying patrolling and ensuring maintenance of peace and law and order. He asked the officers to maintain vigil on the activities of anti-national elements, who always try to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the valley. He also emphasized for greater coordination between police and security forces at all levels for effective maintenance of law and order. Khoda said that while dealing with situation firmly, the police and the security forces must ensure that law abiding citizen are not put to any difficulty. He issued strict instructions to all wings and ranks of the police and security forces to ensure safety of life and property of the people. The DGP urged the people to beware of mischief mongers and subversive elements, who always try to disturb peaceful atmosphere. He urged the people to identify such elements so that they are brought to book. Khoda, who flew to Srinagar from Jammu this morning, is camping in the summer capital to personally monitor the situation. Among others, the high level meeting was attended by Joint Director IB, S.K. Sinha, Additional Director General of Police (CID), K. Rajindra Kumar, IGP CRPF, Kashmir, N. C. Asthana, IGP, Kashmir Zone, Farooq Ahmed, Deputy Inspectors General, CRPF. B S Gujral and Shyam Chand, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, H K Lohia, A G Mir, Rauf-ul-Hassan, T Namgiyal, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mehraj Ahmed Kakroo, SSP Srinagar, Javaid Riyaz and other senior police and security officers.
