| Manohar inspects Uyog Bhawan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, February 05- Minister of State for Industries and commerce, Cooperative, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma has asked the industrialists to provide employment to local youth in their units on priority basis. During his inspection to the Jawarharlal Nehru Udyog Bhawan today, the Minister instructed the Directors of Industries and Commerce, Jammu to come up with a comprehensive policy for absorption of local youth in private sector. The Minister said that the Government provides many incentives to the industrialists and it was obligatory for them to provide jobs to the local youth on priority in their units as per the State’s Industrial policy. The Minister while reviewing the performance of Jammu and Kashmir Handloom Department said that development and modernization of the Basholi shawls should be taken up on priority. He directed the Handloom Department to organize a weaver awareness camp in Basholi in the last week of February adding that a detailed project should be prepared for revival of Basholi handicrafts. The Minister also reviewed the performance of Entrepreneurship Devlopment Institute (EDI). The Director EDI Dr. Perrary briefed the Minister about functioning and activities of the institute. Minister was accompanied by Director of Handloom Industries, M.D. SIDCO/SICOP and JK Industries.
