2/5/2010 11:10:27 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu , Feb 5: Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today took another very brave step when she led an Anti-Hartal and Anti-stone pelting rally in Shalteng area of Srinagar, when entire city has been affected with the stone pelting and forcible Hartals for the last one week. She led the huge gathering of villagers who were protesting against the stone pelting elements and Hurriyat agents who were forcing and threatening people to go for shut downs and Hartals. It was the first anti-Hartal rally in the valley organised by any political party in such an organised way. During a six kilometer long rally from Parimpora outskirts to Mujgund village, more than one thousand people participated. Rally was participated by many top leaders of SDP. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi thrashed separatist leaders including Mehbooba and his brigade for inciting people for non productive ways like stone pelting and regular Hartal culture. She said that these foreign agents have transformed Kashmir into a criminal hub. The crimes range from gang-rape to supari killings. Dr Andrabi also criticized the present coalition for encouraging these elements for petty political gains. She said that people are not with separatists or militants but it is a game of fear that they are encashing. Dr Darakhshan asked all nationalists and the true well wishers of Kashmiris to come forward and raise their voices against this slow-poisoning of the new generation of Kashmir. She alleged that negativity is being preached by so called political representatives and a section of the Pak sponsored press in valley to make Kashmiris mentally impotent. She said that stone pelting culture speaks of the wild mindset of its advocates. Those who claim themselves as the representatives of the modern J&K should take it very seriously and oppose it as she has dared to break the ice.
