| Seminar on Quality Enhancement In Higher Education begins | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 5: A two-day seminar on the topic ‘Quality Enhancement in Higher Education: A National Challenge’ began today at SPMR College of Commerce
The seminar was formally inaugurated by Dr N A Ganai, Dean Academic Affairs, Jammu University.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Ganai said that much needs to be done to improve the quality of Higher Education.
In his address, Dr Rajive Gupta, Director, Colleges Development Council, Jammu University enunciated various steps to ensure quality education.
Dr Nisar Ali, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Kashmir University, while addressing the participants talked of various facets of Quality education.
Dr. Youdhvir Singh, Head Department of Commerce and Convener IQAC of the College explained the rationale for holding of the seminar on this topic.
Prof. Hemla, Principal of the College, while welcoming the guests and resource persons, opined that the deliberations of the seminar will give rich menu for intellect growth and help in policy formation.
In the first technical session, four papers by Prof Nazia Rasool, Dr Farooq Ahmed Peer, Dr RK Bhat and Ms Jyoti Sharma were presented on Qualitative improvement of life at work places attracted lot of discussion. The session was jointly chaired by Dr GL Thapa and Dr BL Koul, former Principals while Dr Geetanjali Rana Co- Chaired the proceedings.
In the post lunch session, Dr Youdhvir Singh, Prof Jatinder Kour, Dr Zahoor Ahmad and Prof Lata Sharma and Prof Pankaj Sharma presented their papers on usage of modern teaching, Research & learning methodologies initiating discussions. This session was jointly chaired by Prof Indira Rathore Ex – Principal and Prof Neetu Andotra HoD Commerce, University of Jammu and Co – Chaired by Prof Sandoor Singh.
Prof Anjali Mahajan compeered the proceedings and vote of thanks in the inaugural, first and second session were presented by Prof Pooja, Prof Tickoo and Prof KS Koushal respectively.
Multimedia presentations were facilitated by Prof Minu Bala, HoD BCA.
