| Seminar on empowerment of women held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 5: A seminar was organized for empowerment of women at Village Karli. Distt. Samba of Jammu organized by M.L.A Indu Pawar with the help of Central Bank of India. The camp was well attended by women for villages and far flung areas of Jammu. While inaugurating the programme Indu Pawar MLA briefed the participating women about the various schemes launched by the Govt. of India and Central bank of India for welfare of women. She called upon them to adopt of skills like dairy farming floriculture and bee farming etc to empower themselves and to become financially independent. She encouraged them to be self dependent and participate in various camps to make them selves self sufficient financially. Central bank of India is encouraging the poor women in forming the self help groups for becoming self sufficient for starting small micro units at their own level. The bank will provide financial assistance to the self help groups according to their need to start up their project collectively. The programme was also attended by various dignitaries like University Scholar, Handicraft, Handloom, Social Welfare etc.
