| JU organizing 5th science congress meets on feb 8 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 5: To bring a better interface between society and scientific researchers a 5th JK Science congress is being organized by the university of Jammu in collaboration with J&K state council for Science and Technology from February 8 to 10 at the university campus.
The theme of the congress is “Science for Society”. During the three days mega event, emphasis will be laid on inculcation of scientific attitude among the faculty/researchers/students for the overall development and welfare of the society.
According to Prof. Subash Gupta, organizing secretary and Prof. G.M. Bhat, coorganizing secretary of the congress all the preparation have been made for the congress and scientists across the state and other parts of the country are participating in it. Different sessions have been devised for the congress where in resea4rchers/ scientists will deliberate on their research. In addition stalls on Agriculture, Horticulture, Industry, IIIM, Blood group determination are being installed.
The congress will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah valedictory function on 10th feb. 2010, Governor N.N. Vohra will be the Chief Guest. Besides Ministers of Science 7 Technology Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi and Minster for Higher Education Abdul Gani Malik, officers of Academicians across the state and country and members of civil society are participating in the congress.
