| Petty argument costs transport life | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 05: In a clash between two groups of transporters at the Narwal Fruit Mandi here over the issue of out of turn loading of trucks, a man was killed while another was struggling for life in the hospital with critical stab wounds.
Police sources said transporters Ajit Singh alias Kakka and Milkha Singh, both residents of Chatha, came to the Narwal Fruit Mandi in the afternoon and tried to forcibly load their trucks.
When Gurnam Singh of Sainik Colony and Rajinder Singh of Karan Bagh objected to it, Ajit and Milkha allegedly attacked them with sharp-edged weapons, inflicting serious injuries on them.
Some other transporters intervened and evacuated the injured to the GMC Hospital where Gurnam died. The condition of Rajinder was stated to be serious.
After the matter was brought to their notice, police swung into action and arrested both the accused. A murder case was registered against them.
