| Bhalla lays foundation stone of bridge | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, February 06 - Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla has said that the coalition Government is according top priority to road connectivity for speedy development of the State. The Minister was addressing a gathering after laying foundation stone of a bridge over Ranibir canal crossing at Dharap in Satwari block, to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 18.36 lakh. The bridge is expected to be completed by April 2010. Chairman Health and Sanitation, Mr. Satesh Sharma, senior officers of R&B, Power, Irrigation and PHE departments accompanied the Minister. Bhalla said that with the completion of bridge, the villages including Dharap, Shergaria, Dashmash Nagar and adjoining areas would be connected with Kunjwani road. Responding to the local demands of Dharap village, the Minister asked the PHE department to dig 10 hand pumps in the village Dharap Kothey. He said that the instructions have been issued to irrigation department to provide irrigation facilities to farmers on the tail end of every village of the State through water pumps. He asked the Power Development Department to install one more 100 KVA transformer for improving the power scenario in the area.
