Party to protest at district headquarters on Feb 18
Coalition’s wrong policies proving disastrous for State: PDP

Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 6
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced to stage protest demonstrations at all the district headquarters on February 18 against failure of the government on all fronts.
The decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of PDP leaders held today under the leadership of party vice-president and former Rajya Sabha member Trilok Singh Bajwa.
Expressing grave concern over deteriorating law and order situation in the state especially in Kashmir Valley, the meeting observed that killings of innocent people at the hands of security forces have been going unabated but the coalition regime failed to take step to keep a check on the excesses being committed on common masses by the forces.
PDP leaders warned that wrong policies being adopted by this dispensation would prove disastrous as discontent among masses has been increasing with each passing day.
“Situation is sliding back to the pre-2002 situation due to the wrong policies being adopted by the present dispensation for the last one year”, leaders present in the meeting observed and added that people had started comparing performance of present coalition regime with three year’s tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as Chief Minister of the State”.
“As Chief Minister of the state, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had not only carved out a path of equitable development but also pursued reconciliation and peace process which restored peace”, pointed out Trilok Singh Bajwa.
He, however, regretted that the present regime failed to carry forward the developmental and peace agenda of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Exhorting the party workers to launch a war against this anti-people dispensation, Bajwa said that it was high time to take people’s problems on streets. “On the one hand law and order situation has been deteriorating while on the other hand common people have been facing shortage of essential commodities”, he said and added that state has plunged into unprecedented crises due to non availability of ration, scarcity of drinking water and power curtailments.
Speaking on the occasion, party general secretary Balbir Singh said that coalition regime has been exposed before the masses as it has failed to fulfill all promises made with the people during the assembly elections.
Ridiculing state government’s claims of accelerating development activities, he said performances of this regime seem to be appeared only on papers.

Besides Former Minister Rangil Singh, Daman Bhasin, Ved Mahajan, Shanti Devi and Suram Singh, other senior party leaders also addressed the meeting.
