| Banyan school organizes interactive session on effective parenting | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 7: An interactive session was organized by “The Banyan Tree School” between Dr. Broota a well known psychologist; and parents on “Effective parenting” here today. The purpose of interaction was to strengthen the ties amongst the parent-child-teacher relationship, based on child psychology, parents and teacher’s psychological attitudes towards a child. Parents were satisfied and impressed after their queries and answered and doubts were cleared. Dr. Broota emphasized that it was crucial for parents to have a happy and smooth family environment in a child’s growing stages on life, for the child’s well being and overall development;- else it could be dangerous for them as in the case of Osama Bin Laden and Billa and Ranga case. He said children and perceptive and learn more from observation than verbal instructions. So parents ought to be perfect role models, and added new horizons and vistas were opened up before the parents. Everybody needs counseling, whether one is proved to be sick or not! A child’s mind is forced to get conditioned, as an adult’s world is a rushed world of “hurry ups “:- thus causing anxiety in a child’s life, who lives in a fantasy world of his own. Dr. Aruna on the occasion said that parents should be more nurturing and caring, and accept a child’s shortcomings and must seek the teacher’s guidance for their well being and safety. The Principal S.Chauhan said, “We have discovered solutions to our problems.” B.R. Sharma who was the chief guest Principal Secretary said that children are more secure and happy in a joint family atmosphere which has a support system, as compared to a nuclear family unit.
