| PDP protests against PCB, industrialists | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 7: Kathua town is victim to industrial pollution and thousands of residents are under the threat of diseases like skin cancer, allergies, asthma, skeletal floursis, kidney failure, cancer and other fatal diseases. Expressing concern, Block President PDP, Jagdeep Singh Jagga and District Vice President Sardar Tej Paul, while protesting at the National Highway along-with large number of people against pollution causing industrial units and also resented over the failure of the government to control the pollution causing industries. They also burnt the effigy of chairman pollution control board of Jammu and Kashmir. Jagga alleged that pollution control board and the industrialists have forced lives of the people of entire town in danger deliberately. People demanded that to put ban on the new steel and rolling mills which is going to be set up shortly in Kathua industrial area and also immediate steps against pollution causing cement and metal industries should be taken. Munish Singh, Parmodh Mahajan, Anoop, Surinder Gupta, Mans Pushpinder Singh, Tarlok Singh and other also protested.
