| Chib, Bhalla lay foundation stone of 1.19 Cr project of Revenue Complext | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 7: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla accompanied by Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports Mr. R.S. Chib today laid the foundation stone of Rs. 1.19 crore Revenue Complex at Rathana, R.S. Pura.
Legislators Prof. Gharu Ram and Ch. Sham lal and ex- Minister, S. Manjit Singh were also present on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Mr. M.K. Dwavedi, , Director General of Youth Services and Sports, Mr. S.A. Leharwal were among the senior officers present on the occasion.
Addressing the function, Mr. R.S. Chib said that the Government was committed to provide necessary infrastructure to all the areas of the State, including Health, Revenue, Education and other vital sectors. In this connection, construction of a Primary Health Centre and Revenue Complex have been started and efforts were on to construct a Veterinary complex in the area, he added.
Referring to the decision of decentralisation of dministrative powers, Mr. Chib said that the steps are being taken to provide administrative excess to the people to minimise their problems pertaining to Revenue Department in minimum possible time.
Referring to the expansion of sports infrastructure being taken up by the Government to promote sports activities in the State, Mr. Chib said that land needs to be identified for construction of playing fields in all the Panchayats so that special sports schemes launched by the Government of India are implemented in letter and spirit.
Mr. Raman Bhalla, in his address, said that the demand with regard to construction of Revenue complex in the area, has been fulfilled and steps would be taken to provide staff and other facilities at the offices.
Lauding the role of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi in providing liberal funds for the huge developmental activities of the State, Mr. Bhalla said that the Government is keen to solve the problems faced to the Refugees by providing them domicile certificates and financial assistance in a phased manner to enable their children to get jobs in the public sector.
Directing officers to speed up the works under execution, Mr. Bhalla said that the pace of work on several projects is being monitored and stress is being laid on use of quality material and judicious use of funds.
Asking agriculturists to save agriculture land Mr. Bhalla said that the cultivable land is precious, only two kanals of land can be used for construction of houses.
