Omar failed to control situation in J&K: Sawhney
2/7/2010 10:57:40 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 7:
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that the situation in the entire State is worsening day by day due to the alleged failure of the Government on all fronts.
In a statement issued her, A K Sawhney, PDP spokesperson, while referring to the spate of killings in Srinagar, condemned the Government for the Human Rights Violations and said that the people who had got some respite from the “Police raaj” of the NC and some healing touch by the PDP during the regime of Mufti Mohd Sayeed were again feeling alienated and back on the streets in anger mode against the Union Government, State Government and the security forces.
Sawhney said that the all the good work done on ground by the regime led by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, PDP Patron as Chief Minister was being undone by the present regime and there was an unrest and restlessness in the people.
He claimed that the same machinery, bureaucrats and Police worked in the Mufti regime but the Government had not let loose a reign of terror on the people rather the machinery could not dare violate human rights and incase any incident did occur and strict action followed.
The PDP Spokesperson hailed the decision of party president, Mehbooba Mufti of declining to attend the DDB meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.
He also flayed the Government for using the official State Information Department for unleashing false propaganda against the PDP and covering derogatory remarks of the Ministers. He urged the Central Government to immediate act to control the situation else the situation would turn from worse to worst.
