| Defected Nokia mobile phone | | Consumer Forum directed Nokia care to make payment to the complainant | | Jammu, October, 10:- Divisional Consumer Forum Jammu comprsing Mr. SL Pandita its President and Meenu Sharma its member today directed Nokia Care, Rama Electronic Canal Road Jammu to make payment of Rs 12,200, the amount that the complainant Shakti Kumar had paid for purchase of Nokia mobile along with interest @ 6% P A from July 11, 2005 till realization. The complainant is also held entitled compensation Rs 2000/- for having suffering because of deficiency of service on the part of M/S Rama Electronics Canal Road Jammu besides the complainant is also held entitled an amount of Rs 1000/- as litigation charges. The entire award shall be satisfied by the
Nokia Care Centre Rama Electronics Canal Road Jammu and also directed complainant that he shall depositor the charger with the Nokia Care Center against proper receipt.
This award was passed by the Divisional Consumer Forum Jammu in a complaint filed by one Shakti Kumar of old Janipur Jammu, who had purchased a Nokia 6600 mobile from M/S Bhushan Radio below Gumat Jammu on cash payment Rs 12,200 on July 11, 2005. The phone purchased had some mechanical defect that was not disclosed by the seller, the seller despite replaced with the new one asked the complainant to approached Nokia care Center. The complaint on July 19, 2005 approached the Nokia care center, who promised to get the faults rectified within seven days. After the various visit by the complainant to the Nokia Care Center for getting delivery of the mobile have not yielded but have caused mental and physical suffering filed this complaint in the forum through Adv Aseem Sawhney, which was decided today and forum directed the Nokia care center to pay the amount along with compensation and litigation charges.
