JAMMU, Feb 8: Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand who is also chairman of the Housing Board chaired the 39th meeting of its Board of Directors held here today.
It was given out in the meeting that J&K Housing Board has so far been able to develop 10110 plots of different sizes and allotted in 14 housing colonies under Development of Housing Colonies in the state. Of this 3550 plots have been allotted in Channi, 618 in Patoli, 199 in Channi Rama, 341 in Udhampur Phase I, 203 in Udhampur Phase II, 450 in Kathua, 1321 in Ompora, 832 in Bagh-i-Mehtab, 284 in Bemina Berthana, 372 in Kanil Bagh, 225 in Charar-e-Sharief, 144 in Tibitian Refugees, 1070 in Kadipora and 501 in Murtse Farm, Leh.
The meeting held threadbare discussions in which Commissioner Secretary, Planning Mr. B. B. Vyas, Commissioner Secretary, R&B Mr. Mehboob Iqbal, Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development Mr. Suresh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Managing Director, Housing Board Mr. Ishtiaq Ahmad Hamal, Chief Town Planners, Jammu and Kashmir Mr. Muneer Ahmad and Mr. Iftikhar Ahmad respectively attended.
The meeting was further informed that the Board has also constructed 1952 flats and handed-over to Estate Department under Rental Housing Scheme for Darbar Move employees at Tulsi Bagh, Bemina, Talab Tillo, Borhi, B.C. Road, Sarwal, Ahate Amar Singh and Ahate Poonch House. Moreover the board has also constructed 18 flats at Mattan for migrants.
It was also told that the Housing Board has also constructed 450 flats in Ambedkar Chowk, Hospital Chowk Gandhi Nagar, Last Morh Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Channi Himmat, and Bagh-e-Mehtab.
The board discussed formulation of State Housing Policy, Reimbursement of amount repaid by J&K Housing Board to HUDCO, Rental Housing Flats for Darbar Move employees at Jammu and Sringar, development of Housing Colony at Zakura and Ganderbal, development of Housing Colony at Udhampur Raithan Bypass Phase I, renting out of Hall type accommodation, restructuring of Organization, development/Sales of plots Sector I, Kathua Housing Colony, development of Housing Colony at Sempora, Pampore and development of Housing Colony at Tangmarg.
