UDHAMPUR, Feb 8: District Information Centre, Udhampur organized a Debating contest on the topic “Television : A Friend or Foe” at Government, HSS, Tikri, today in which 10 students of the host school participated in the contest.
Student Manisha Sharma of the institution clinched first position in the contest while Miss Anjli Rani and Nisha Rajput bagged second and third positions respectively in the contest. Consolation prizes were given to Sonam Verma and Joyti Sharma. The participants were awarded prizes and certificates of merit.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the School, Mr. Ashok Kumar lauded the efforts of J&K Information Department in organizing the event of great importance in his institution. The contest has enabled the students to expose their talent on a common platform which would help in building self-confidence amongst the students. He urged for more such programmes in educational institutions.
The Artists of District Information Centre and students of the host school presented a skit and scintillating cultural programme on the occasion which was highly liked by the audience.
