| Sham holds Public Darbar | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 8: In order to address people’s problems at their doorsteps, the Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma today held “Public Darbar” at Akhnoor. A large number of people from various parts of Akhnoor tehsil turned up and apprised the Minister about their problems. The problems which were projected before the Minister mainly pertained to upgradation of PHE schemes, electricity, road connectivity and other essential services. The Minister attended to each individual and listened them patiently. He issued instructions to the concerned officers to resolve the problems on priority. He asked the officers to pay frequent visits to the rural areas to address problems of the people on-the-spot. He also stressed for effective monitoring of various on-going schemes in the area so that the projects are completed in time. The Minister directed the concerned officers to formulate a comprehensive proposal for allotment of residential plots to houseless people living in the Akhnoor local bodies limits. He said that all the deserving and needy families will be allotted residential plots with necessary financial assistance on the pattern of Indira Awas Yojana (IAY). Mr. Sham said that coalition Government is endeavouring to provide good governance and justice to all sections of the society at their doorsteps. He said that steps initiated by the Government to upgrade various services and to address the problems of the people were yielding dividends on ground and people are acknowledging the Government efforts. He said that tempo of development, especially in rural areas will be further accelerated in future, the Minister added.
