Saroori takes stock of NH

Ramban February 8- The dead body of the veteran Congress leader and son of former Minister, Vijay Singh Raju was today consigned to the flames at Cowbagh cremation ground at Ramban, who met with an accident yesterday and died on spot with his brother and two others who were accompanying with him during his visit to Jammu.
Mr. Saroori also visited the houses of the deceased congress leaders and expressed his sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for the peace of their soles.
On this occasion, the two minutes silence was also observed there.
Meanwhile, during his travel from Jammu to Ramban, he inspected various points of the National Highway and said that crush barriers will be installed soon at those places which are accident prone areas, so that the repeated accidents may be stopped at earliest. He exhorted upon the officers that the work on this project may be started with six months in the near future.
Referring the widening of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and its conversation into four lanes, the Minister said that he has already taken this issue with the Union Ministry of Surface Transport.
Meanwhile, enroute to Ramban a number of people met the Minister and apprised him their problems. He directed the district administration to mitigate their problems. The Minister directed the BEACON and Traffic Police to restore the traffic on the National Highway on priority.
On this occasion, the Minister for R&B, Mr. G. M. Saroori, MLA, Ramban, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mr. K. B. Magotra, S. P. Ramban, Mr. Latifee, AC, Leaders of the different political parties, senior citizens, and a number of rain drenched people of different walks of the life were present at the cremation ground.
Earlier, paying glorious tributes to the departed sole, the Minister said that the veterans congress leader Vijay Singh Raju was down to earth worker, who all along like his late father served the downtrodden, poor and need persons. He further added that he was a grass root worker of the ogress party and the vacuums created by his death is impossible to full fill in the near future.
