Rajouri, Feb. 8
Hectic efforts have been started in the power corridors of state government to get the post of administrator at Shadra Sharief shrine which is lying vacant for the past more than two weeks after the death of Anayet Hussain Baba . Baba worked as administrator at this shrine for the period of more than twenty years till he died last month due to sudden cardiac arrest . Two retired revenue officers belonging to Poonch and Rajouri districts are reportedly among the first runners in the race for this post . However, various religious bodies closely attached with this shrine are not in favor of those having tainted previous record and they have also informed the government in this regard through a resolution adopted by them unanimously .

Informed sources told Early Times that hectic efforts have started in the power corridors of the state government for the post of administrator at most sensitive and holy place Shadra Sharief shrine located in border district Rajouri . The post of administrator fell vacant after the sudden demise of late Anayet Hussain Baba who belonged to Bhaderwah area of Doda district . Baba Managed the affairs of the shrine more than two decades under the direct control of state auqaf department . As per the previous records , the administrators of Shadra Sharief shrine were always appointed by the government from the non officials mostly the politicians . Late Anayet Hussain Bba was also a non official person and an advocate professionally . However, for a brief period , in early nineties, the state government had appointed a revenue officer with the rank of ACR as administrator but the idea failed as large scale corruption was alleged in that period .

Giving details, informed sources told Early Times that two retired revenue officer belonging Rajouri and Poonch border districts have geared up their campaign in the Congress as well as National Conference circles in the state government to get the post of administrator . One of them is said to have paid more than 20 lakh net cash to a politician in power . However, sources said both of them have bleak chances of being considered because both the ex – officers are facing various corruption cases in the state vigilance organization . Sources said, government is also in search of an honest person for the post because of its religious sensitivity and holiness . At present, the government has given additional charge of shrine affairs to Assistant Commissioner Revenue Rajouri till the further arrangement is made, said sources . The income on the shrine can be gauged with the fact that a fully equipped technical university is being run by the financial assistance of Shadra Sharief shrine .

Meanwhile, the religious forces closely concerned with the affairs of Shadra Sharief Shrine have expressed their displeasure over the mere reports leaking out that some retired revenue officers were being considered for the post of administrator at Shadra Sahrief shrine. Moulana Ameer Mohammad Shamsi Chairman Alhuda Educational Trust Rajouri while talking to Early Times said that before appointing any person at the Shrine government should gather detailed information regarding the previous record of the person . “ If the reports coming out are correct it would be an irony of the state”, said Shamsi . Moulana Farooq Ahmed Chashitti an other head of a religious group in the district have also expressed his displeasure over the reports coming out regarding the appointment of administrator at Shadra Sahrief shrine . “ Before taking any decision in this regard government should consult the religious bodies in the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri”, said Moulana Farooq Ahmed Chashitti adding that if any person having tainted past was appointed at this holy place they will revolt against the decision . Not only this, Moulana Allal-u-Dind Hamidi and other religious scholar said that they have adopted a unanimous resolution in this regard and same has been sent to government . “ Our demand is to appoint a person from the region having clean past with religious knowledge . Any tainted person if appointed by the government will not be allowed to take the charge of this holy place”, added Moulanan Allal-U-Din.
