| KPs delegation calls on Relief Commissioner | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 9:A deputation of Joint Migrant Forum, Purkhoo camp called on Commissioner Relief and Rehabilitation, Vinod Koul and apprised him of the problems being faced by the migrants living in camps. Led by chairman of the forum B L Koul, the delegation discussed various issues pertaining to Kashmiri migrants in general and camps inmates in particular. A detailed memorandum enlisting these issues and various problems faced by the Kashmiri Pandit migrants was submitted to the Commissioner. The delegation demanded that the issue of separate bond form which is to be filled while applying for job under Prime Minister’s employment package for Kashmiri migrants must be withdrawn by the State Government to build up confidence among aspiring migrant youths who, they claimed, have time and again shown readiness to serve in any part of valley. Other issues including enhancement of monthly relief to the tune of Rs 12000 per month per family, release of HRA and CCA in favour of migrant government employees were also highlighted in the meeting. The members of the deputation also stressed for concreting of all lanes of Phase-II, streamlining of electricity and drinking water facilities in whole Purkhoo camp. The Chairman highlighted about the failure of present Apex Committee members whom, he described, unable committee to project issues of survival properly before the Government. The Commissioner assured the delegation for early redressal of their day to day problems, besides taking up of issues of employment, enhancement of relief with the concerned ministers of the State government.
