| Govt plans to ban sugar for industry use | | | Agencies
New Delhi, Feb 9: Facing heat over rocketing price of sugar prices, the Central government has been planning to ban use of sugar for industry.
In a bid to check the sugar prices, a proposal to ban use of sugar for Industry has been referred to Law Ministry.
The government has said that the confectionery and soft drinks industries are largest bulk sugar consumers.
According to the report, soft drink and confectionery industry uses 65 percent sugar.
It is worth mentioning here that Opposition has been targeting government and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar over spiraling sugar price
