DCC holds interaction session with Corporators, Block, Ward presidents

JAMMU OCT-10 To elicit guidance from the seniors party leaders, the District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu (Urban) headed by its President Om Prakash Chopra today organized an interactive session with the Corporators, block and ward presidents at the party headquarters. Senior and veteran party leader and Health and Medical Education Minister Mangat Ram Sharma was the chief guest.
Mandan Lal Sharma MP, Praduman Singh, MLC, Janak Raj Gupta ex-MP and the members of the Lady wing also attended the interactive session.
The interaction session has been organized in the backdrop of the recent Congress session held at Nanital last month where the chairperson of the party Mrs Sonia Gandhi and the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh impressed the need to strengthen the two pillars of political system- party and the executive.
Today’s session was a part of the series envisaged for bringing more cohesion between the party and the executive.
Chopra in his address dwelt at length on various aspects and urged the need to strengthen the political system.
Kasturi Lal Sharma, Jagan Nath, Nazir Ahmed, Shiv Prakash Jolly, Shanti Devi, Inder Sehgal, Vijay Sharma, Padmni Lengeh and Kirtan Singh who also spoke on the occasion highlighted the problems of the people that included irregular water supply in Janipur,Rehari,. Sarwal. Upper Laxmi Nagar,Kachi Chowni, Panjthirthi and Pacca Danga and demanded alternative measures to tackle this growing problem.
Madan Lal Sharma and Janak Raj Gupta raised the issue of growing unemployment problem among the educated youth and called for tackling the issue on war footing.
Endorsing the suggestion that all MLAs should be directed to visit the party office for interaction with the grass root level workers and other office bearers, Mangat Ram said that he would suggest the Chief Minister to direct all party legislators to visit the party headquarters and keep close liaison with the grass root level workers.
Sharma also agreed to arrange a meeting of Chief Minister with the party workers, block, ward presidents and the Corporators and called upon the party rank and file to be ready for the elections due after two years.
Dharam Paul Gupta, Ex-MP, Ravinder Sharma party spokesman J L Koul, Lalita Sharma, M S Khan, B B Gupta, Kailash Rani, Indu Pawar, Nek Mohammed, Romesh Sharma, Kishori Lal Gupta Nek Mohammed and Hussain Baksh also took part in the interaction session and suggested various measures for strengthening the party.
