| J&K skaters win 8 medals in nationals | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, February 10: Jammu and Kashmir clinched eight medals in the recently held 47th National Roller Skating Championships at Nagpur in Maharashtra.
The J&K skaters, who represented the state under the banner of J&K Roller Skating Association, took part in all the three age categories of sub-junior, junior seniors in the four-day long event.
“The strong contingent of 50 boys and girls returned with three silver and five bronze medals,” said president of the Association, G S Khurmi.
The team was accompanied by Sourab Bakshi as manager and Suhasani Gupta as lady manager. In all, 18 states took part in this competition.
THE MEDAL WINNERS: Ashima Gabgotra, silver in road race-I and bronze in Rink race-II; Mir Danyal, silver in Rink race IV and bronze in Rink race III; Ankush Gupta, silver in Rink race II; Arjun Gandotra, bronze in Elimination Race; Paras Thakur, bronze in Road race-I and Varinda Sharma, bronze in Point to Point race.
