| Itfaq Farmers Club ‘CHAK’ launched | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur: Ellaquai Dehati Bank in collaboration with NABARD launched Itifaq Farmer’s Club “CHAK” linked with its Chak Morh branch in Udhampur. Programme despite inclement weather was attended by a large number of farmers from Chak and adjoining villages besides DDM NABARD Udhampur, BDO Udhampur and several officials of various departments and NGOs.
Farmers were given details about concept of Farmer’s Club programme and the benefits to be taken from Farmers Clubs in achieving the overall socio- economic development of the area. Main object of the programme was aimed at increasing access to rural credit through technology transfer, awareness & capacity building. The programme provided excellent opportunity to the farmers to have direct interaction with various experts and necessary inputs were given on issues relating to the development of the area.
Regional Manager, Ellaquai Dehati Bank suggested farmers to avail the benefits of Bank’s Kissan Credit Card scheme, with which farmers can avail credit at a concisional rate of 7%. He also laid stress on the importance of development though credit & timely recycling of funds.
