Jammu, Feb 11: Delhi Public school today celebrated the annual day of the school by organizing an impressive function at Abhinav Theatre . Director General Police Kuldeep Khoda was the Chief guest on the occasion while the function was also graced by Dilbagh Singh, Inspector General of Police (Armed Forces), S.S.Sodhi, Director/Founder Member Board, Delhi Public School, Jammu, Prof. Y.R. Malhotra, Ex Vice Chancellor .
The programme commenced with Tilak Ceremony and Bouquet presentation to the chief guest & other dignitaries by the school cabinet followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
The Cultural Bonanza commenced with the Swagat song sung by the school choir followed by the welcome address and Annual report presented by the Principal of the school, S. Sonar who also highlighted the achievements of the school/students in the field of Academics, Cultural activities, Sports, Art and Craft.
The programme became more lively with the Instrumental Orchestra based on .Raag Bahar welcoming Spring - The King of Seasons. The bouquet of folk dances of various states particulary of Rajasthan (kalbalia), Punjab (Jagrana), Assam (Bihu), Gujarat(Gujarati) and J&K (Khud) were also performed by the students of the school. by the students.
Speaking on the occasion Khuda congratulated the school management and staff for raising the standard of the school by imparting quality education and for all round development of the students. He also appreciated the Principal, Staff & students for presenting colourful and meaningful programme on the occasion.
Later , Kuldeep Khoda, S.S. Sodhi, Y.R. Malhotra and S. Sonar gave away the prizes to the students who brought laurels to the school in the field of Academics and Co-curricular activities by winning medals at the national & Inter national level.
Vote of thanks was presented by S.S.Sodhi, Director / Founder Member Board. He also congratulated The Principal, Headmistress, Staff & students for the grand success of the programme. He thanked the parents of Delhi public School, Jammu for their full co-operation extended to the school from time to time.
