| Display Your Talent” 2009-10 | | Rahul from IMFA bags first prize in classical vocal (Solo) | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 11:
In the ongoing the “Display Your Talent” contest Rahul Kumar and Rakesh Kalotra, both from institute of music and fine arts, Jammu clinched the first and second prize n the Inter-collegiate/ departmential competition in classical vocal (Solo) .
Nidhi Kaila from government women college, Parade, Jammu bagged the third prize while the lone certificate of merit was awarded to Amneet Kaur from government women college, Gandhi Nagar Jammu.
Rahul presented Raga Shudh Kalyan in his sonorous voice and stole the show. The Bandish of “Bara Khayal” was “Man Bhaj Ley tu Hari Naam, Puran Hot Tero Kaam”. Raga Yaman presented by Rakesh Kalotra was also highly appreciated. Nidhi Kaila impressed the experts with the soul full condition of Raga Adana. The other particulars presented Raga Nat Bhairav, Sudh Sarag and Gaur Malhar etc.
Veena Gupta and Jagdeep Kour were the adjudicators for the said event.
The prizes were awarded to the winners by TK Jalali, former principal, institute of music and fine arts, Jammu.The programme was compered by Meenakshi Anand, Indu Bagal and Gagandeep Sharma.Among others Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Anupama Sharma, Jasmeet Kour, Chinmei Sharma, Dr. Harish Kaila and Ravi Sharma were also present.
The programme was supervised by Tabish Tanvir, Anikta Mahajan and Sarang Vaid.
