| JKAACL announces annual drama awards | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 11 J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today announced the results of the recently held plays staged as part of the Annual Drama Festival which was held at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu from Jan 15 to Feb 3. Visarjan which was staged by Natraj Natya Kunj bagged the award for best production while second best production award went to Viraat Socio-Cultural Society’s Swal Aur Swapan play. The other persons and productions which bagged awards in different categories included Best director Tapeshwar Dutta and Irfan Choudhary for Ant Hazir Ho, Second best director consolation prize to Ravinder Sharma for Ajje Da Sikander, Best actor male Vikram Sharma for In Camera, Second best actor male Rajesh Raina for Chote Log, Best actor female Neha as Vandana Gupta in Swal Aur Swapan, Second best actor female Priya Raina as Shilpa in Ant Hazir Ho, Best costume by Kamal Mohini for Visarjan, Second best costume consolation prize to Himanshu Darhsan for Swal aur swapan, Best make up award to Himanshu Darhsan for Swal aur swapan, Second best make up consolation prize to Manoj Dhamir Shami for Visarjan, Best light award for the production Ant Hazir Ho, Best music award to Surinder Manhas for the play Kharaashein, Music second best consolation award to Vijay Goswami for Ajje Da Sakinder, Best set award to Himanshu Darshan for Swal Aur Swapan, Best child actor award to Mehvish Choudhary as Dhruv in Visarjan, In addition to the above, certificates of merit in acting have been announced for Rakesh Tickoo as Gan Sahib for the play Chopaer yee Gash, Palvi as Esttelle Rigauld for in Camera, Dilshad as Sahil in Ahsaas, and Shami Dhamir as Kuki in Chote Log. The awards have been awarded on the basis of merit and performance by a team of jury appointed for the purpose by the Cultural Academy, which conducted the Drama Festival.
