| Takhshila Niketan celebrates annual day | | | Early Times Report Jammu, 11 February Takhshila Niketan School celebrated its Annual day today which marked a tribute to the unity and integrity of different cultures of the country. Song, music and dances were an amalgam which made the day more joyful. It was a step ahead to build the bridges of oneness by appreciating the culture heritage of mankind. The function started with lighting of lamp by the chief guest , followed by Ganesh Vandana and Saraswati Vandana - An attempt to pay homage to our motherland and restore the dignity of humanity & Country. Harish Kumar Chopra, Principal made a humble beginning by a warm welcome speech and expressed his views regarding the imparting of education with innovative means by adopting the method of science and technology and took a oath to remove illiteracy among the masses to the rural areas of the state. Principal presented the progress made by the school in the last one year and said that during its existence, the school has taken long strides and has made commendable progress in over all development of the students. The tiny tots of the school presented their fountain of talents by dancing to the tunes of traditional and western music. The senior children held the audience engrossed with their colourful attire and heart throbbing performances. Later, awards among the students who presented cultural programme and meritorious students distributed. The student of Class 7thMimansa Bhardwaj declared Student of the year. The students, parents, staff members and prominent persons of the area attended the function.
