| JKDF felicitates people on Maha Shivratri | | |

The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF) today felicitated people of the state on the occasion of Maha Shivratri (Hareeth).
president of the JKDF Pandit Bhushan Bazaz has expressed hope that celebration of Shivratri will make the beginning of a new era in state. He said festivals like Shivratri have pecullar importance in view of our age old traditions of mutual brotherhood and communal harmony. The prime objective of celebrating festivals like Shivratri should be to strengthen our faith in values taught to us by our spiritual leaders. “Reshis” and “Munis”.
He also said, Muslims and Hindus have been celebrating various festivals in the state especially in Kashmir jointly and this amply indicated our faith in religious coexistence. He said celebration of these festivals provide us a chance to stimulate our faith in communal harmony and peace which is essential for progress and prosperity.
Pandit Bazaz prayed that the celebrations o Shivratri may prove harbinger of change and we may be able to live together again in a atmosphere which has been envied by people living in other parts of the country.
