| Deputations call on Saroori at winter secretariat | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Feb 11
Various deputations hailing from Shaheed Gunj, Dalgate, Chadoora, Tangmarg, Kupwara etc today called on the Minister for Roads &Buildings G M Saroori here today in winter secretariat. The deputationists apprised the Minister of various problems and sought early redressal. The Minister assured the deputationists that government is committed to provide all basic amenities within available resources at their doorsteps. Later, presiding over a high level meeting of divisional officers, the Minister took stock of availability of food grains, LPG, k-oil and other essentials. He also reviewed the pace of work of various ongoing development projects in various parts of the valley. The Minister was informed that 362.54 km of road has been macadamised at a cost of Rs. 63.43 crore under CRF. It was stated that Dalgate-Budshah-Batamaloo road widening is in progress at a cost of Rs. 10.64 crore. The Minister was assured that the work will be completed within stipulated time. Regarding Hyderpora flyover, the Minister was informed that 58 percent work has been completed and the cost of the project is Rs. 62.59 crore. The Minister directed the concerned authorities to identify accident prone crossings in the Srinagar city so that these could be redesigned to avoid traffic accidents. He asked the CA&PD authorities to ensure equal availability of foodgrains and LPG besides other essentials in all the areas.
