| Marks sheets tampering case | | NSF welcomes JU Council initiative | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 11 National Secular Forum (NSF) has welcomed the decision of Jammu University Council for constitution of a three-member committee to review the need of deployment of police inside the varsity campus. Addressing media persons here, Vikas Sharma, president NSF said that decision has been taken keeping in view the sentiments of the students and scholars into consideration and hoped that the committee would not take much time to submit its report. He also welcomed the concern shown by the Governor N N Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over the marks sheets tampering case and mass copying case. “The assurances of the authorities to take strict action against the persons engaged in marks tampering and mass copying cases would definitely ensure transparency in the system. Such decisions have been taken in view of the sentiments of the students and scholars,” he said. He further said that decision has been welcomed by the scholars and the students. Those who attended the press conference included Sandeep Singh Charak, Inder Pal Singh and Uttam Singh.
