| Cong MLC demands revision of BPL lists in Doda | | |

Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Naresh Kumar has expressed anguish and concern over non availability of free ration to drought hit people of erstwhile Doda region including Bhaderwah town.
In a press statement issued here today, Gupta said, who is also the president of Congress Committee Doda, said that the list prepared by Revenue department and other allied agencies has not been revised and the real beneficiaries are being ignored by them who suffered from the drought.
He said all people of erstwhile Doda who have BPL ration card should be given free ration. He urged the government to take serious note of faulty BPL list and initiate the inquiry against those who ignored real beneficiaries and give place in the list to their close associates.
Gupta alleged that the people were not provided wood in this chilly season at Doda district and the forest department proved a money minting department as people suffered without wood.
He said that though five days have been lapsed since road from Batote to Doda is closed, yet no concrete measures have been taken by any agency included BRO to reopen the it.
He appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to personally intervene and direct concerned authorities for reopening of the road as soon as possible.
