| Tight security for Shivratri celebrations | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 11: Security in this winter capital of the state has been beefed-up ahead of the Shivratri celebrations here tomorrow.
As the Shivratri is going to be celebrated with zeal in the ‘City of Temples’ tomorrow, additional troops have been deployed in and around the city peripheries, a police official said.
‘’Security forces have been deployed in the premises of all famous temples besides tight security arrangements in the city,’’ a senior police official said.
He said that security personnel deputed in the temples would be maintaining tight vigil and keeping check on suspicious movements for the smooth celebrations as lakhs of devotees are expected to throng temples to offer prayers on this auspicious day.
Meanwhile, all famous temples, including Shiv Dham, Ranbeshwar Temple, Peerkho, Aap Shambhu, Shiv-Parvati Temple have been illuminated and decorated with the buntings on the occasion.
Lakhs of devotees, every year queue up early morning to pay obeisance in temples while ‘langars’ are also organised for the visitors.
