| JU trying to sabotage students’ agitation, alleges JJSF | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 12
Jammu Joint Students’ Federation (JJSF) has alleged that the Jammu University (JU) authorities are trying to suppress the movement launched by the student community seeking curtailment in syllabus of three years degree courses as they are playing a negative role by frightening the students. Addressing media persons here today, State Vice President of JJSF Partap Singh Jamwal alleged that it was reported by some of the students of various colleges especially those located with in city municipal limits have claimed that some of the professors, who are acting as touts of JU and state government, are intimidating them. These touts are repeatedly saying the students that their career will be destroyed by failing them in internal assessment and also threatening them that they will be arrested by police, he added Jamwal further said that they are also using derogatory language against these agitating students. JJSF leader cautioned the persons involved in such acts and announced that their residences will gheraoed within couple of days if they do not desist from their anti-student activities. Criticizing JU for announcing the exam schedule for BA/BSc/BCom Part-I despite assurances by Controller of Examinations and Dean Students Welfare that the current session will be extended for some time, Partap Singh said that the students have left with no other option to resort to violent methods in favour of their demands JJSF said in clear terms that the concession in syllabus was students’ only demand students and there will be no compromise over this issue. He warned that until and unless the demands of students are conceded, JJSF will not call off its agitation.
