| Information Deptt organize multilingual Mushaira | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 12 State Information Department in association with Adbi Markaz Kamraz organized a multilingual Mehfil-e-Mushaira here today. A galaxy of intellectuals, writers and poets assembled in Sehgal Hall of Abhinav Theatre, where various speakers complimented cultural wing of the Information Department and Adbi Markaz Kamraz for inviting prominent scholars, novelists, fiction writers and poets for the event. In the first session, the research works written on life and contribution of prominent poet Margoob Banihali was released. Rafiq Masoodi, Director Doordarshan, Dr Aziz Hajini, M Y Taing and Margoob Banhali presided the first session of this literary meet. While speaking on the occasion, the renowned writer Margoob Banhali complemented Jammu University for facilitating such research oriented works. The second session was presided by Kh. Farooq Renzu, Director, Information, renowned scholar, MY Taing, Margoob Banhali and Dr. Aziz Hajini. Speaking on the occasion, Director Information said that it is a remarkable occasion, when scholars and poets of such repute have assembled in Sehgal Hall, in such a large number. He said that poems and other recitations presented in the function will be published and documented by the Department of Information so that it is registered as one of the important events in the literary history of the state. The poets recited their poems on varied themes depicting enchanting beauty of Kashmir, amity and brotherhood, which are the hallmark of Kashmir’s rich cultural ethos. Some poems presented emotional feelings representing pain and agony through which the people of the state have passed during years of turmoil and mayhem.
