| Best Legislator’s Award; Govt initiates process: Sagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 12
Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar said that the State of J&K has initiated the process of adjudging the best legislator award for the person who has outstanding contribution in the House. He said that certificates are also being given to the Legislators who contribute in maintaining decorum and dignity of the house as well as participate actively in deliberations of the house. He said that “We have more than 15 sittings of the House and due assistance is provided to the Whips. As per the directions of the Chief Minister, state of the art facilities are being provided to the legislators so that they are well acquainted with the happenings nationally as well as globally” he maintained. Minister was speaking at Whip’s Conference organized at Chandigarh. The three day 15th Conference of this kind had participants from different states of the country. He said that Youth Parliament competition should be increased at gross root level and the Government of India should release adequate grants for the same so that more and more youths are involved in political process. While recommending the training of the Legislators in premier institutions of the country, the Minister said that they should be imparted training at IAS Academy Musoori and other institutions of the country. Minister said that state government will fully support union government in implementing the recommendations which may evolve during the deliberation of the conference. The Conference was also attended by Advisor to Chief Minister, Mubark Gul, MLA GA Mir and Secretary Law, GH Tantray.
