| Infiltration bid foiled on LoC in Poonch | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 13: Amid ceasefire violation by Pakistan, an infiltration bid was foiled on the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sub-sector of Mendhar in Poonch this evening. Official sources said Pak army opened fire from their Daku and Battal outposts on Kranti and Kirpan forward Indian positions at about 6.15 pm to fascilitate infiltration. They fired RPG rocckets and used machine guns, the sources added. India retaliated and put troops all along the LoC on high alert to foil any infiltration bid by the Pak-based militants. When contacted, BGS Media, Brigadier Gurdip Singh confirmed the incident of firing by Pak, saying "it was a clear case of ceasefire violation". There were reports of a junior commissioned officer (JCO) having sustained injuries in the Pak firing. The BGS, however, denied these reports and said there was no casualty on the Indian side. The intermittent firing between the two sides was continuing at the time of going to the print.
