Terming the controversial Padamshri of Kashmir, Mumma Kanna as a goon and a killer of more than 5000 Kashmiries in valley , People’s Democratic Party president , Mehbooba Mufti lambasted at the state and central governments for recommending his name for the prestigious award of the country . Mehbooba said that the person who have been given Padamshri award is the rapist and murder of innocent Kashmiries . This she burst while addressing to a public rally organized by her party workers at frontier border district Rajouri on Saturday .
Making the frontal attack on the National Conference government in the state of Jammu and Kashmir , Mehbooba Mufti said that this government has failed in all fronts and the faith of the people in the government which was built by her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during his tenure is eroding day by day . She said that the NC government has repeated its past record of cruelty and the teen aged were being fired upon by the security forces mere for stone pelting . “ It is the matter of regret and shame that former Chief Minister and president National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah recommended prestigious award of the country ‘ Padamshri’ for a person who is known notorious and killer of more than 5000 Kashmiri Muslims”, said Mehbooba .
Counting the failures of the state government on all fronts during its 13 month tenure , Mehbooba said that the thirteen months tenure was sufficient for the government to prove its credibility but it failed on all fronts and the miseries of the people were multiplying which is not tolerable for her party and they will not remain mute spectator of the situation . Criticizing the employment package of the Ommer government announced on 5th of December last, Mehbooba said that it was an eyewash and fun with the educated unemployed youth of the state . She said that her party will not remain mute spectator of the situation in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and will soon come on streets to save the interests of the common people .
Advocating the release of detined Hurriyat leaders , Mehbooa said that the government was deliberately making the situation tense in the state by putting the Hurriyat leaders behind the bars . “ Soon after we had taken the reigns of the state all the Hurriyat leaders were set free and they were allowed to go to the public” said Mehbooba adding that the history is witness that NC believes in crushing the voice of the people with might which is dangerous for the state of Jammu and Kashmir .
Earlier , speaking on the occasion, MLA Darhal , Zulifkar Chowdhary indicated that the day is not much when People’s Democratic Party would be again in power . He said all those people are mistaken who say that PDP is no more . Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion included , Advocate Tazeem Dar, Shahzad Khan, Mohammad Shafi Dar, Tirlok Singh Bajwa, Shanti Devi, Th. Balbir Singh and A K Sahney .
