NSUI celebrates “Indo-Pak Aman Ki Asha Divas”

:National Student’s union of India (NSUI) J and K office Bearers has taken a unique initiative by celebrating Feb 14th, 2010 as “Indo-Pak Aman Ki Asha Divas”. A large number of NSUI volunteers, under the leadership of Mr.Nitish Mahajan (NSUI State Vice President) gathered on the banks of the river Chenab at the border town of Akhnoor, where they sent dozens of boats filled with messages of peace and decorated with balloons and flowers across the border. The river flows into Pakistan.
While Addressing the Media Persons .Nitish Mahajan Informed that "Peace is not necessary just for Pakistan and India but for all Race’s, all religions and for all creatures in this universe" Mahajan informed that through this medium, NSUI volunteers have send the message of love and peace to our neighbours.
NSUI Volunteers were also carrying Banners with slogans like ‘’One and a half billion people just want peace”, we want Peace-Give Tomorrow a chance”.
NSUI Volunteers also urged the student community & youth of J&K state to come forward to oppose the Propagators of violence and the politicians of dualistic attitude openly to pave way for the beginning of a new peaceful era of development and progress within the state.
Function was attended by large number of NSUI state office bearers. Prominent among those were- Sushant Gupta (NSUI State General Secretary), Parminder Singh (State Sports Co-ordinator),Tarun Sharma, Amit Gandotra, Ronik Sharma, Rajan, Assem, Bupesh Sharma, Amit Gupta, Jagjot Singh and others.
