| Govt to sanction Rs 1.84 crore Bathinidi-Barmeeni road: Bhalla | | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 14: The State Government has approved Rs 1.84 crore for the construction of four-kilometer link for connecting Bathinidi and Barmeeni areas, the work on which would be taken up shortly. Famous Charak Bharadhari Shiv Temple is located in the area, where thousands of devotees pay obeisance every year. The announcement was made by Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla after laying the foundation stone of vented causeway, including, approach link road, near Charak Baradhari Shiv temple in Sunjwan, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 22.29 lakh. Bhalla said that with the completion of causeway and approach link road, thousand of families living in the twin areas would be benefited. The Minister said that Government has formulated a comprehensive plan for developing the area on modern lines by providing all infrastructural facilities. Responding to the locals demand, he asked the Rural Development Department to immediately start the maintenance and desilting work of sacred pond, near Charak Baradhari Shiv temple. He said Rs. 2.5 lakh have been sanctioned for the purpose. Regarding construction of 800 meter long lane and drain in Satellite Colony at Bathindi and Parking near Cremation Ground, Channi Himmat, he asked the concerned authorities to prepare the estimates and submit the same for funding. At Azad Nagar in Upper Gaddigarh, the Minister laid foundation stone of 1000 meter long link road, to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 19.28 lakh. He asked the executing agency to complete it by March 2010 to ensure early benefit to the people. For upgrading the drinking water facilities in Karan Bagh and adjoining areas, Mr. Bhalla said that Coalition Government has sanctioned Rs. 4 crore for digging a tube well, including laying of pipes. He said that the execution work would be completed by March 2010.
