Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee vice president and chairman Press & Publicity, Mohammad Muzaffar Parray has welcomed the decision of former Minister and state chief of the party, Saif-ud-Din Soz for re-admitting of dissidents into party folds. In a press statement issued here, Parray welcomed the return of veteran Congress leader Gulam Rasool Kar, Fayaz Ahmad Dar (Pulwama) and others into party fold. “It is welcome step and is highly appreciated. These Congress leaders would work hard to strengthen the organization as they have done in past,” he hoped. “Soz has strengthened Congress and he is taking every step to make the party strong in J&K,” Parray asserted. Eight dissidents of the party, who had contested last Assembly elections against the party, were allowed to rejoin the Congress yesterday. Meanwhile, a couple of Congress leaders from district Kathua also welcomed the re-admitting of Pankaj Dogra, a party rebel from Billawar, into party fold. Addressing media persons here, Jammu Pradesh Congress committee’s general sectary Rattan Chand Karotra and secretary, Manohar Singh said that Dogra is a dedicated worker who had joined the party in 1988 and since then played a splendid role on various positions in the party. The District Congress Committee disclosed that it would organise a grand function at Mehta Palace in Kathua on February 27 where Saif-ud-Din Soz would be chief guest.
