| CB busts interstate car gang, kingpin held, vehicles seized | | | SUMIT SHARMA Jammu, Feb 14: In a well coordinated operation, the Crime Branch, Jammu, has busted an interstate gang of vehicle lifters with arrest of main kingpin seizure of three vehicles. The gang had its headquarters in Pulwama district of South Kashmir and reportedly operated over a number of states, including Punjab and Haryana. Three vehicles including a luxurious Verna car have also seized from their possession. Sources disclosed that Crime Branch Jammu has busted Kashmir based vehicle lifters gang and has arrested three Kashmiri youth including main king pin of the gang identified as Raja from Pulwama. Sources further informed that on specific information a Crime Branch team was dispatched to Srinagar where after conducting raids police has arrested three vehicle lifters from Pulwama. Four vehicles which were running on fake documents were also seized from their possession. Till midnight interrogation by three DySsP of the Crime Branch was being done where these vehicle lifters revealed that they used to steal vehicles from neighbouring states including Punjab and Haryana and after tampering their registration numbers they sold the same in Srinagar. Crime Branch sleuths have also recovered fake documents of various vehicles from their possession. Pertinent to mention here that barely fifteen days ago Bus stand police also busted vehicle lifters gang from Srinagar who imposing theirselves as influencial persons fled to Srinagar with vehicles and other belongings of the travel agents after leaving them in Jammu based hotels in the state of unconsciousness as the latter consumed intoxicants in juice unknowingly at the hands of vehicle lifters. Meanwhile interrogation of the arrested vehicle lifters was in progress in Crime Branch safe house and more recoveries and arrests are expected
