EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 15: Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone reviewed the arrangements being made for the smooth conduct of ensuing assembly session in a meeting held here today. Speaker impressed upon the officers of various departments including Police, Traffic, Fire Services, Estates, Hospitality & Protocol, PHE, PDD, Municipal Corporation, JKTDC, Health & Medical Education, Information, Floriculture, Government Press and BSNL, to work in tandem and put in place a fool proof mechanism to ensure smooth conduct of the Session. Lone asked the Police to deploy adequate staff within the assembly premises and make watertight arrangements for the security of the legislators as well as the employees. He also passed instructions for proper regulation of traffic on roads leading to Legislator’s Complex and MLAs Hostel, besides asking the Government Press to ensure immediate and timely supply of Parliamentary papers like AQ lists, Bills and Committee Reports. He instructed the State Information Department to take all necessary measures for extensive coverage of the proceedings of the House. The Director Information was also asked to make available the Video CDs of the proceedings of the House for their display in the Photo Gallery. Lone directed the Director Estates to ensure installation of two LCDs in the Complex for which Information Department will ensure day to day proceedings photographs. In order to maintain unique ambience of the assembly precincts, the Floriculture Department was asked to decorate the complex in tune with the environs of the campus. Lone asked the Public Health Engineering and Power Development Department to ensure adequate supply of drinking water and uninterrupted power supply during the entire Session. . The BSNL authorities were asked to ensure smooth tele-connectivity during the session. Similar instructions were also passed to Municipal Corporation to assist in keeping of the lawns, corridors and passages of the assembly complex. The JKTDC was instructed to re-open the Cafeteria in the lawns of the assembly for providing lunch, tea and coffee on already government approved rates. Among others, the meeting was attended by high ranking officers of the Police and Civil administration, including Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal, Inspector General of Police, CID MA Anjum, Director Information, Kh. Farooq Renzu, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Security,(DIG), Jammu, DIG Jammu, Chief Engineer, PHE, Director, Hospitality & Protocol, Director, Estates, Director, Floriculture, Secretary, J&K Legislative Assembly, M Ramzan, besides other senior officers of the concerned departments.
