| Sham inaugurates Free Eye Camp | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 15: Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma, today, inaugurated a 4-day free Eye Camp, organized by the Sant Nirankari Mission, in collaboration with Directorate of Health Services at Akhnoor. The camp is being held in the premises of Sub-District Hospital under the overall supervision of Block Medical Officer, Akhnoor. The doctors of Health Department and Government Medical College, Jammu will examine the patients and conduct surgeries during the Camp. The Sant Nirankari Mission has made adequate arrangements for free medicines and residential accommodations for the visiting patients. Over 1,000 patients are likely to visit the Camp. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister lauded the philanthropic services rendered by the Mission in the service of mankind, especially for the destitute. He said that the Mission was providing yeoman’s services in the field of healthcare, education and during emergencies, arising due to natural calamities and accidents. Expressing his gratitude to the zonal head of the Mission, for his contribution towards the society, the Minister said that the Government will extend every cooperation to the Mission and asked them to continue to serve the needy. He asked the people to take full benefits from the camp. Sant Jagmohan Choudhary apprised the gathering that Mission was committed to uplift the downtrodden, through its missionary efforts, and it was trying its best to free the society from all evil. He said that Mission is enlightening the society spiritually and creating mass awareness about the social reforms, besides contributing in conservation of environment, plantation drive, cleanliness and general awareness against the drug addiction. Prominent among those present on the occasion included, President Viklang Chhatra Trust, Mr. Sat Pal Saraf, besides a large number of people.
