Akhoon releases newly printed ration cards

Srinagar, Feb.15: Ration Cards 2010-11 developed, designed and printed by J&K Bank were released here at Bank’s Corporate Headquarters. Responding its Corporate Social Responsibility, J&K Bank has got the ration books, numbering more than ten lakh, printed on behalf of the State Government for the second time consecutively. The book has three variants viz. APL (Above Poverty Line) BPL (Below Poverty Line) and AAY (Anapurna Anaaj Yojna).
Akhoon lauded efforts of J&K Bank management for taking lead in initiatives that focus on peoples’ welfare. “Bank’s intervention of printing the three variants of ration cards in three different colours has definitely helped the CA&PD department to streamline the monitoring and supervision on modern lines,” Hailing Bank for giving ration books a decent, foolproof and durable presentation, Akhoon congratulated Bank, especially its Chairman Dr. Haseeb Drabu, for encouraging professionalism and technology. “The Bank’s performance based on excellence of professionalism and leveraging of technology has today made it an institution that is being looked upon with high esteem by Corporate World and is being applauded not only at the national but also at the international level,” Asghar Ali Samoon, Commissioner, CA&PD and Mehraj-u-din Kenu, Director CA&PD, Kashmir thanked the Bank for managing the designing and printing of over ten lakh ration books in a very short span of time.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Majid Mir, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, J&K Bank said that from the Bank’s perspective idea behind undertaking the printing of ration cards was to extend the benefits of various deposit and advance products to all segments of the society. “J&K Bank, alive to its Corporate Social Responsibility, thought that ration cards, owing to their massive reach, could help us reach out to almost every household of the state. Besides, our strategic shift to focus more on the J&K state needed a tool to convey our product and service offerings aimed at peoples’ economic empowerment and Ration Books provided the solution,” Mir stressed.
Among others who were present on the occasion included G A Regoo and Abdul Rashid, Bank’s Presidents, Khurshid A Pandit, R. K. Shah, Nayeemullah and P. K.Tickoo, Bank’s Vice-Presidents and other senior officers of the Bank and the CA&PD department.
