| USTA supports two days strike of EJAC | | | Early Times Report

J&K United School Teachers Association endorsed two day strike call of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) on February 16 and 17.
Addressing media persons here today, Banarsi Dass Sharma President, USTA said that association endorses EJAC’s two day token strike in support of long pending demands of state govt employees and teachers, to force the state govt to implement the unimplemented part of the agreement arrived at between representatives of state govt, employees and cabinet sub committee and calls upon the state govt, to immediately concede the following demands.
Release of 6th Pay Commission arrears from 01-01-2006, release of pending 5% HRA, removal of pay anomalies of various cadres and teachers, regularization of all Adhoc, consolidate, contractual, daily rated and temporary workers, enhancement of retirement age from 50 to 60 years. He also highlighted situation prevailing in the school education department and expressed grave concern over the non seriousness on the part of state govt for not addressing long pending demands of teaching community. He called upon the Govt to revisit the transfer policy viz viz Rehber-e-Taleem teachers. USTA appealed all the leaders of trade unions, associations and federations to come on one plate form on the basis of collective leadership in the larger interest of state govt, employees.
