| Govt for more transparency, accountability in Rev Deptt : Bhalla | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, FEBRUARY 16-Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today said that Government was to bring transparency and accountability in Revenue Department at all levels. For this purpose a comprehensive programme to computerised the revenue records has been taken up in the State. The Minister was speaking at a meeting of senior officers of Revenue Department, here this afternoon. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mrs. Naseema Lankar, Secretary, Revenue Department, Mr. Ejaz Iqbal, Secretary Law Department,Mr. G.H. Tantray, Custodian General Evacuee Property Abdul Latif Deva, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. Manoj K Diwevadi, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Mr. Sanjeev Verma, PRO Custodian Department, Mr. A A Wani and others senior officers of revenue department were present in the meeting. The meeting among other issues, deliberated in detail the rehabilitation of refugees, Mr. Bhalla said that Coalition Government was making concerted efforts for regularising the left out colonies of displaced families as ‘Abadideh’. He asked the concerned authorities to prepare a comprehensive record of the state land, proprietary land and waste land in their respective districts. He asked the Collectors to implement the instructions of the Government in letter and spirit and also enforce the guidelines of Revenue Department by solving revenue related issues of the people. The Minister asked the Divisional Commissioners/Deputy Commissioners to prepare the lists of the families residing in refugees basties so that they could be given benefits under Revenue Department Act. .
