JAMMU, Feb 16
Mast Garh Peer Mitha Mohalla Welfare Association in collaboration with Women Development Corporation organized a function to educate the women about various welfare schemes being launched by the State and Central Governments.
Former BJP state president and MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria, who was chief guest on the occasion, said that the Mohalla Welfare Association has indeed done a great job by organizing such a function.
He said the women, particularly widows and poor, who are dependent on others and do not have their own financial resources, can avail the benefits of various schemes framed for them.
He further said that the loans of different amounts granted by the government agencies would help the women to generate their self employment by starting their own work. He said the schemes aimed at the betterment and welfare of women would really prove to be of great help.
Khajuria said that he being an elected representative of the Jammu City, too, is working towards making available the benefits of welfare schemes to the needy women.
Besides senior officials of Women Development Corporation, BJP MLA Choudhary Sukhnandan, former Deputy Mayor JMC, Rani Bloeria, Mast Garh Peer Mitha Mohalla Welfare Association chairman Jyoti Vaid and vice chairman Sanjeev Gupta were also present on the occasion.
