JAMMU, Feb 16
A book titled “The Game of Cricket and Records” authored by Kavinder Pal Singh was released here today.
The book was released by President All India Sikhs Intellectual Circle, Jaspal Singh Mangal. There are five different sections in the book – History of Cricket, Laws of Cricket, Suggestions on the Laws, Great Cricketers of the past and Records including first-class cricket.
All the records in cricket from 1860 to the present day including first-class cricket are in this book.
Speaking on the occasion, the author of the book Kavinder Pal Singh said that we all watch cricket but nobody knows the origin of cricket and Laws of Cricket.
We can tell anybody about great players including Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Shane Warne or Sunil Gavaskar but nobody knows about the stalwarts of the game in the past like GA Lohmann, C Blythe, SF Barnes, WG Grace, JB Hobbs, H Sutcliffe etc who did splendid job years ago.
Kavinder Pal Singh added that this is his first book and another one would be released in United States of America next month besides four more books by the end of this year.
